Indian Outfits for Men for a Mehendi Celebration
A Mehendi outfit for men can be traditional without feeling overly formal. A kurta on its own keeps the look simple, while adding a vest or jacket gives the outfit more structure.
Aayka’s collection includes several approaches to modern Indian clothing for men, including:
-
Printed and shaded kurtas for a more relaxed look
-
Kurta-and-vest combinations for added structure
-
Lucknowi kurtas with a more detailed finish
-
Sherwanis when the Mehendi calls for something more formal
-
Coordinated sets that can be styled with traditional or contemporary accessories
The current collection includes styles such as the Samir olive-green kurta, Rohit shaded kurta, purple kurta and vest, Krish kurta and vest, Lucknowi kurtas, and several other rental options.
Mehendi Kurta for Men
A kurta is one of the easiest choices when you want a traditional Indian outfit without the formality of a full sherwani. Depending on the fabric, color, print, and styling, it can work for a daytime Mehendi or a more polished evening celebration.
For a Mehendi kurta for men, consider:
-
A brighter or richer color for a festive look
-
A printed kurta when you want more visual detail
-
A Lucknowi style for a more textured or traditional feel
-
A kurta with a vest when you want a more structured silhouette
-
A simple kurta when comfort and movement are your priorities
Your footwear and accessories can then change the overall level of formality without requiring a completely different outfit.
Mehendi Outfits for the Groom, Family, and Guests
The same basic styles can be adapted depending on your role at the wedding.
For the Groom
A groom can choose a more distinctive color, layered kurta, or structured Indo-Western look for the Mehendi. If you are wearing a sherwani for the wedding ceremony, a kurta or kurta-and-vest combination can create a different look for this event.
For Family Members
A kurta with a vest or jacket can provide a polished look without requiring the same level of formality as the groom’s main wedding outfit.
For Wedding Guests
Guests have more flexibility to choose prints, colors, and simpler silhouettes. A kurta or contemporary Indian outfit can work well when you want to look festive without matching the wedding party too closely.
Choosing the Right Mehendi Outfit
Start with the event and then decide how formal you want the outfit to be. A daytime Mehendi may call for a lighter, more relaxed look, while an evening celebration can support richer colors. Fit matters just as much as the design. Before renting, consider:
-
Overall fit through the chest and shoulders
-
Sleeve and kurta length
-
The fit of the pants or bottoms, when included
-
The silhouette and level of structure you prefer
-
